About this book series

Sustainable Development and Sustainability Transition Studies (ESDP-SDST) is a peer-reviewed book subseries that focuses on different disciplinary approaches to sustainable development and on different scientific, technological, societal, economic, psychological, cultural and political or governance aspects of the ongoing and emerging debate. The goal of this subseries is to offer scientists from different schools and different networks and institutions a platform for scientific analysis and debate. Sustainable Development (SD) is a goal placed on the policy and scientific agenda by the Brundtland Commission in 1987. Sustainability Transition (ST) refers to long-term transforma¬tive scientific, technological, societal, economic and political processes aiming for a low-carbon economy (green economy). It emerged in Europe with the 2009 Amsterdam Conference that resulted in the Sustainability Transition Research Network (STRN). Sustainable Development and Sustainability Transition Studies welcomes book proposals from scholars from the social sciences who are working on conceptual, empirical and theoretical approaches to sustainable development and on sustainability transition. A key goal of this subseries is to give scholars from the global South more voice and visibility in the peer-reviewed literature. This subseries includes original monographs, edited books (e.g. workshop or research reports), and outstanding academic qualification studies (PhD and MA/MSc theses). All books in this subseries must be original and between 30,000 and 70,000 words. They are peer-reviewed and published as printed books in softcover and as Ebooks.
