About the Editor

Ishfaq Ahmad, Department of Computer Science, The University of Texas at Arlington, USA

Dr. Ishfaq Ahmad is Professor of Computer Science and Engineering and Director of the Center for Advanced Computing Systems at the University of Texas at Arlington (UTA) which he joined in 2002. He earned his Ph.D. in Computer Science and his M.S. in Computer Engineering from Syracuse University, New York, USA, in 1992 and 1987, respectively; and his B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Engineering and Technology, Lahore, Pakistan, in 1985. His early education was from Central Model High School, and Government College, Lahore. Prior to joining UTA, he was Associate Professor in the Computer Science Department at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. He has authored 260-plus publications that include books, papers in peer-reviewed journals, and conference proceedings, related to software for supercomputing systems, parallel optimization algorithms, digital video compression and analysis, assistive technologies, and sustainable computing. Professor Ahmad has received numerous international research awards, including five best research paper awards at leading conferences and top-tier journals. Dr. Ahmad’s research, with career-wide funding exceeding $13 million, is sponsored by government agencies and several companies. Aside from being the founding editor-in-chief of the Journal, Sustainable Computing: Informatics and Systems, he has served as an editor of six others journals, chaired over 20 conferences, and delivered more than 150 talks. A senior visiting scientist at the U.S. Air Force Research Laboratory in Rome, New York, and a visiting lecturer at NASA’s Johnson Space Center, Houston, Texas, he also holds honorary professorships at several universities around the world. He is also the editor-in-chief of Springer’s new Journal Discover Internet-of-Things, with an editorial board of researchers from around the world.

Amlan Chakrabarti, Professor and Director, A.K.Choudhury School of Information Technology, University of Calcutta, India

Dr. Amlan Chakrabarti is a Full Professor in the A.K. Choudhury School of Information Technology at the University of Calcutta. He is an M.Tech. from University of Calcutta and did his Doctoral research at Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata, India. He was a Post-Doctoral fellow at the School of Engineering, Princeton University, USA during 2011-2012. He is the recipient of prestigious DST BOYSCAST fellowship award in Engineering Science (2011), Indian National Science Academy (INSA) Visiting Faculty Fellowship (2014), JSPS Invitation Research Award (2016), Erasmus Mundus Leaders Award from EU (2017) and Hamied Visiting Professorship from University of Cambridge (2018) and Siksha Ratna Award by Dept. of Higher Education Govt. of West Bengal (2018). He has also served in various capacities in various higher education organizations both at national and international levels. He has received multiple project grants in the areas of Security in Cyber-physical Systems, Embedded System Design, VLSI Design, Quantum Computing, Computer Vision and Data Science from various national and international agencies such as DST, DRDO, MietY, UGC, DAE, Ministry of Social Empowerment, WB-DST, Tata Consultancy services, Intel India etc. He has published over 150 research papers in refereed journals and conferences. He is a Sr. Member of IEEE and ACM, Distinguished Visitor of IEEE Computer Society, Distinguished Speaker of ACM, Secretary of IEEE CEDA India Chapter, Vice President of Data Science Society and Life Member of CSI India. His areas of research interest are quantum computing, reconfigurable computing, embedded systems design, VLSI design, computer vision and machine learning.

 Dr. Pradeep Kumar Singh currently working as Professor and associate Dean (Computer Engineering) at the School of Technology Management & Engineering (STME), SVKM’s, NMIMS Deemed to be University, Chandigarh Campus. He has completed his Ph.D. in Computer Science and engineering from Gautam Buddha University (State Government University), Greater Noida, UP, India. He received his M.Tech. (CSE) with Distinction from GGSIPU, New Delhi, & B.Tech. (CSE) from U.P. Technical University, Lucknow, India. Dr. Singh is a life membership of the Computer Society of India (CSI), a Life Member of IEI, and was promoted to a Senior Member Grade from CSI, IEEE, and ACM. His research interests include; Data Science Technologies, Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs), the Internet of Things (IoT), and Information Security. He was recently appointed as a Section Editor at Discover IoT, Springer Journal. He has received three sponsored research projects grants from Govt. of India and Govt. of HP worth Rs 25 Lakhs. He has got 18 edited volumes, 9 Indian patents and over 150 research papers to his credit.
