Aims and scope

Computational Science and Engineering (CSE) is a multi-disciplinary journal that focuses on the development and application of computational methods for solving scientific problems across all branches of the natural and engineering sciences. Typically, such computational contributions take a holistic view on the whole simulation or analytics pipeline. Special attention is paid to the reproducibility of code and to the FAIR principles of research data: Every published paper undergoes careful review by a dedicated Code Review Board. The journal strives to adhere to Open Science principles whenever possible: CSE is a fully Open Access journal, and we strongly encourage authors to also make code and data associated with their papers openly available and citable.

The following disciplines will be covered in the journal with the wish to expand these to dedicated sub-areas of the journal:

  • Methods, Tools and Platforms for computing in
    • computational mathematics
    • computational physics
    • computational engineering
    • computational biology
    • computational geoscience
    • computational chemistry
    • computational medicine and pharmacy
    • computational materials science
  • High Performance Computing Applications in the above fields
