Stress Biology Excellent Young Scholar Award


The Stress Biology Excellent Young Scholar Award aims to recognize promising scientists in the early stages of their careers in any field of stress biology. Applicants include PhD students and researchers with up to 5 years’ experience since receiving their PhD. The award provides 20,000 (RMB) to each winner. A maximum of 5 winners will be selected and awarded each year.
 

All junior investigators are encouraged to apply for this award. Eligible applicants for the 2023 Stress Biology Excellent Young Scholar Award should be: 1) the first author or corresponding author of a research article submitted to Stress Biology before December 31, 2023; and 2) current PhD students or researchers with no more than 5 years’ experience since receiving their PhD (should be calculated back from the end of 2022 and exclude career breaks).

Selection procedure
To apply, please submit an original research article with the applicant as the first author or corresponding author (Submit now (this opens in a new tab). No APCs in 2021-2023). As part of the application, the following supporting documents are required: 
•    A curriculum vitae, in which a list of publications, research experience, research interest and career goals are included.
•    A letter of recommendation/reference (up to 500 words), in which significant contributions of the article to the field must be clearly indicated, from a scientist who has agreed to support the applicant, usually the applicant's PhD supervisor or group leader. This letter can be submitted as part of the supporting document or directly from the referee to the journal office (stressbiol@nwafu.edu.cn).
The supporting documents should be saved as a single pdf document, in this order:  1. your CV and, if available, 2. letter of recommendation.  


All manuscripts submitted for this award will be peer-reviewed following the standard reviewing procedure of Stress Biology. An award committee consisting of members of Stress Biology editorial board will review and select winners from applications with manuscripts accepted before December 31, 2023. Recipients for 2023 award will be announced by February 1, 2024.
