Biomedical Engineering Education - Call for Papers –  GRADUATE EDUCATION IN BIOMEDICAL ENGINEERING

Biomedical Engineering Education announces a special call for papers focused on graduate education in biomedical engineering. Graduate education is broadly defined as formal education, such as masters and doctoral programs, and also broader topics that surround graduate or postdoctoral training. Examples may include graduate curricular elements, graduate program types, graduate professional and psychosocial support programs, admissions and promotion criteria, career placements, bridge programs or lifelong learning programs for alumni, mentoring programs, programs that develop graduate diversity, inclusion, and equity culture, extracurricular activities, and research or professional development training programs. For publication, papers will need to highlight the implementation, evaluation, and impact of evidence-based practices in the graduate setting.

Papers may be one of the following types.

  • Teaching Tips – short papers that illustrate how to implement evidence-based practices in the BME classroom, curriculum, or extracurricular programs.
  • Innovation papers – full-length articles that describe the application of evidence-based science and engineering education best practices in a BME setting.
  • Research articles – full-length articles that describe original, hypothesis-driven, or research question-driven work in BME education.
  • Perspectives – guest editorials sharing insights about current trends, challenges, diversity, or other pressing topics in BME education.
  • Reviews – articles that critically summarize important aspects of BME education, adding insights that advance BME education research and practice.
