Aims and scope

Microscopy has become an indispensable tool for many areas in research (research areas), which has increased the demand for more expert information to apply appropriate methodologies and use appropriate instrumentation to produce optimal results.

 

The goal of the journal Current Microscopy Reports is to provide the reader with thorough and easy-to-understand information presented by experts in various disciplines spanning cell biology, microbiology, neurobiology, biomaterials, cancer biology, reproductive biology, forensic sciences, paleontology, dentistry, and others. We have Section Editors who have contributed significantly to their respective fields and include Section Editors for the following: 

  • Optical microscopy
  • Confocal, multiphoton, superresolution microscopy
  • Live cell imaging
  • Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM)
  • Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM)
  • Cryo-electron microscopy
  • Focused Ion Beam (FIB) microscopy
  • Correlated Light and Electron Microscopy (CLEM)
  • Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM)
  • Environmental forensic microscopy
  • New methodologies and instrument developments, new applications

Together, we provide the reader with crisp and well-written review papers as well as commentaries and editorials highlighting outstanding new accomplishments in the fields including those that have been awarded recent Nobel Prizes in superresolution and cryo-electron microscopy. We have international contributions and internationally selected Editorial Board members to help invite high quality submissions and encourage researchers of different age groups to contribute to the success of the journal and disseminate knowledge, inspiration, and new ideas.
