The Korean Institute of Power Electronics established as a nonprofit organization to promote academic activities and continuous interchange of ideas in the field of power electronics in 1996. The aim of the KIPE is to enhance the academic studies of power electronics and dissemination of its technology within its regulations.

The KIPE has been promoting academic exchanges and strengthening academic-industrial cooperation with about 1,000 individual members and 180 organizations. Also, over 70 university labs are in cooperative relationship with the KIPE.

Power Electronics is the most essential technology for any kind of industrial areas. In the middle of rapid changes with industry and technology, the KIPE will expand its role to share the state-of-the-art technology worldwide.
