Cereal Research Communications - A Warm Welcome to New Editor-in-Chief Andreas Börner

Cereal Research Communications welcomes newly-appointed Editor-in-Chief Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Andreas Börner.

Prof. Dr. Andreas Börner received his PhD in Genetics and Plant Breeding in 1988 and Habilitation in 1995. From 1990-1996, he was Head of the Wheat Genetics research group at the Leibniz Institute of Plant Genetics and Crop Plant Research (this opens in a new tab) (IPK), Gatersleben, Germany. Prof. Dr. Börner joined the Genebank of the IPK as Head of research group Resources Genetics and Reproduction in 1997. Since 2005 he has served as Head of the Management and Evaluation program. Prof. Dr. Börner is Professor at the Martin-Luther-University in Halle, Germany, where he has supervised 18 PhD and 71 BSc/MSc theses; and presented 80 invited lectures and was co-organizer of 44 international conferences to date. In 2019 he received the title Doctor honoris causa from the University of Life Sciences, Lublin, Poland.
