Japanese Journal of Statistics and Data Science - Call for Papers on “Recent Advances in Biostatistics”

With the recent advancements in data science and statistics, biostatistics has become increasingly crucial in understanding complex phenomena and making informed decisions in medicine and bioscience. The field of its applications is expanding into various areas, including clinical studies, epidemiology, genetics, public health, and biomedical research.
Biostatistics provides sophisticated statistical and mathematical methods, models, computational algorithms, and data visualization techniques for analyzing biomedical datasets. Its primary goal is to uncover patterns, identify risk factors, evaluate treatment outcomes, and develop predictive models. The need for methods and computational tools is greater than ever, considering the emergence of complex and large-scale datasets.
For this reason, our 14th special feature of the JJSD focuses on biostatistics with emphasis on its recent advancements. We welcome original research and review articles that present statistical methods, theories, simulations, and applications, as well as new insights, perspectives, and surveys demonstrating software packages for analyzing datasets in biostatistics. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

- Large-scale / high-dimensional data
- Precision medicine
- Longitudinal data analysis
- Survival analysis
- Machine learning and artificial intelligence
- Imaging analysis
