Journal of Mathematical Biology - The Karl-Peter Hadeler Prize Winner 2024

The ESMTB Award Committee unanimously recommend the article titled "When can a population spreading across sink habitats persist?" by Michel Benaim, Claude Lobry, Tewfik Sari and Edouard Strickler for the Karl-Peter Hadeler prize 2024.

Dispersal induced growth is an ecological phenomenon that allows mobile species to survive and grow in unfavourable conditions. The paper by Benmain et al. develops a sophisticated mathematical theory that can explain the dispersal induced growth in seasonally changing landscapes. The results have immediate implications to our understanding of spatial ecology.
