After a simple registration, you have instant access for six months to the online review copy you selected. You can read and review ten online review copies at one time. For your efforts, you'll get the book for free in return. Taking part in this service you accept our terms and conditions.

How do I find online review copies which interest me?

Access to the online book review copies is through the book product pages on springer.com. You can find the books that interest you and your readers by doing a general search for ISBN, author or title on springer.com. You can also register for our monthly newsletter for book reviewers. How can I access an online review copy?

Once you select a title and see Access an Online Book Review Copy under 'Services for this Book' on the product page, this means the book is immediately accessible for review.  Click on the access button and after a short registration opens the Online-Reader and you can start reading the book.  

How can I reserve an online review copy?

If you see the button Reserve an Online Book Review Copy under 'Services for this Book', this means the title is not yet available. You can reserve it at any time by clicking on the reserve button. The book will then be added to your ‘Review Copies in Waiting List.’

You will receive an email from us as soon as the book is available online. This email also includes a link, so that you can access the book immediately.

How do I read an online review copy? 

To read our review copies online, you just need a device with an internet browser. Once you register with your Springer.com password, you are ready to access online book review copies. Either you select a new book that interests you or you can select a title from your personal list.

Click Access Copy and you will have immediate access to the book you selected. A window will open briefly as the title is uploaded to the Online-Reader (Amigo-Reader). Now you can read your online book review copy.

The Online-Reader offers the following features:

• Use the search function to search the book by keyword
• Skip to any chapter in the book using the contents list
• Highlight text and add comments with help of bookmarks
• Use the magnifying function to make important details bigger

Please note that you need to register with the Online-Reader (Amigo-Reader) at our partner ebooks.com if you want to use all its functionalities, for instance highlighting text or adding comments. You need only register once. 

How do I sign in?

Click on Access an Online Book Review Copy or Reserve an Online Book Review Copy to register for this service. If you already have an account with springer.com, simply type in your e-mail address and password. If you don’t have an account with us, please fill in the requested information to create one.
To access online books for review you will be asked for the following additional information:
• The journal or medium you will be writing for
• Your job title/function within that journal/medium

You will then see an overview of your registration data again and will need to confirm that you are accessing an online review copy for the sole purpose of writing a book review. You are only required to do this once when you register. Once confirmed, you can then click on Access Book Review Copy and have immediate access to your online book. 

Your steps

1. Log in and go to your personal reviewer page in the MY SPRINGER area

Click on Login/Register (in the upper right corner) on our website and choose Manage Account. Now register with your email address and your password to access your My Springer area. Go to Online Book Review Copies and click on SHOW ALL to access your personal book reviewer page.

2. Look for the respective book in your reviewer list and click the Upload button

3. Upload your review

You can upload your review in the following formats: PDF, JPG, TIFF, or even WORD. Also the journal details where you book review was published are required.

After you send us your book review via your profile page (My Springer) or via email to bookreview@springer.com, it will take us a few days to check if it meets the following criteria:

• Your review must have been officially published, preferably in a specialty journal, specialty online media, or an international magazine or newspaper
• You have sent us information about the journal/media where your review was published

You will receive an email notification once your submitted review has been verified. If you reviewed a newly published book, you will receive an email with a link to order a free print copy as a 'thank you'. This free copy of the book will be sent to you at your registered address within two to three weeks.

We send copies as long as the book is not older than three years at the time you first accessed it online. You can also review books that were published more than two years ago. However, we cannot send you a free hard copy of older books.

Every time you log in via MY SPRINGER you can see your current reviewing activities on your Book Reviewer pages, where you will find the following categories:

Review Copies Currently accessed

Here you will find a list of the books you currently have online access to. You can read your review copy at any time by clicking on Access Copy. Please note that you only have access to 10 online review copies at a time.You will also find information about how long you have access to your review copies, and you can send us your book review by clicking on Upload.

Review Copies in waiting list

This is a list of the books that will be available online in the near future and which you have already reserved for yourself.You can remove books from this list at any time by using Delete Item. As soon as your reserved book becomes available for online access, we will send you an e-mail to let you know.

Book reviews submitted

Here you can view a list of all the books for which you have sent us a book review. If the 6-months access period has not yet expired, you will still be able to read the book online. After we have checked the publication details of your book review, we will inform you via e-mail whether you are entitled to a complimentary copy of the book as a thank-you for your efforts.

Book review copy access expired

This is a list of the books where your six months access time has run out. You can send us your book review by clicking on Upload.

To read our review copies online, you just need a device with an internet browser. Once you register with your Springer.com password, you are ready to access our online book review copies.
