About this book series

This series includes collective thematic books and monographs on advanced research topics in continuum mechanics. It is a unique forum for reference reviews discussing critically foundational issues in classical field theories under the light of up-to-date problems raised by the offspring of condensed matter physics and industrial needs, including those concerning the mechanics of microstructures and the relevant multi-field (or phase-field) representations. The series aims also to show new mathematical methods in continuum mechanics and/or recent developments of existing powerful practice. Also, the series pays attention to applications with concrete conceptual content. The series editors select editors of books on specific themes, which may split into sequential volumes.

All manuscripts are peer-reviewed to meet the highest standards of scientific literature:
  • Series editors provide their final decision for inclusion in the series after manuscripts have been fully peer-reviewed;
  • For contributed volumes, volume editors conduct the anonymous peer-review process before final submission;
  • The peer-review process is anonymous and confidential in order to ensure reviewers provide impartial opinions
