About the Editor

Dr Subramanian Tamil Selvan is an academic professional with over twenty years of research and teaching expertise in the area of nano/biomaterials. Currently, he is a Research Professor at Myongji University, South Korea. Prior to this, he has over thirteen years of professional experience in Singapore, in different capacities- as an Adjunct Associate Professor at the Department of Biomedical Engineering, National University of Singapore (NUS); as Project Director/Principal Investigator, and Principal Research Scientist at the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR) Institute of Materials Research & Engineering (IMRE), and Institute of Bioengineering and Nanotechnology (IBN), Singapore. Dr. Selvan is the recipient of the prestigious Alexander von Humboldt (Germany) and JSPS (Japan) fellowships. He serves as an Editorial Board Member of NPG Scientific Reports, and MDPI Nanomaterials. His research interests cover a broad spectrum, which includes the synthesis of metal, magnetic, semiconducting and multifunctional nanoparticles for energy and theranostics applications. He is an author of over 70 publications, 1 book and 3 invited book chapters. He has over 4500 citations with an h-index of 30. To his credit, he has 3 granted U.S. patents and 10 filed patent applications.

Dr. Narayanan Karthikeyan is a Post-doctoral research fellow at the Department of Orthopedics, West Virginia University. Prior to his move to WVU, he was a Senior Research Scientist at the Institute of Bioengineering and Nanotechnology for 11 years. After his Ph.D. in 1996, he worked in Taiwan (1996-1998) and at the University of Illinois at Chicago (1998-2006). His research interests are in the area of Cell and Tissue Engineering, specifically on stem cell differentiation and large scale expansion of stem cells for therapeutic use; role of extracellular matrix on the regulation of stem cell differentiation and drug and gene delivery systems. He is an author of over 45 publications and holds 3 patents.

Dr Parasuraman Padmanabhan is a Research Scientist at the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine at NTU. He has more than twenty two years of research and teaching experience gained from several leading universities, such as Cornell, Stanford University, and A*STAR. He has been working for more than a decade in multimodal molecular imaging to understand the pathophysiology of several disease progressions. His research interests are in the area of neurodegenerative disease and nanotheranostics.

Dr. Ramasamy Paulmurugan is an Assistant Professor in Radiology at Stanford University School of Medicine, since 2009. He is a pioneer in developing split-reporter protein complementation systems for different reporter genes (luciferases, fluorescent proteins and thymidine kinase), and has been using the system for imaging cellular protein-protein interactions in living animals. His research interests are in the area of novel gene therapy, MicroRNA therapy and Cellular Imaging.
